of Netflix-ready devices is spurring streaming service to even faster
growth. At the heart of Netflix technology is the Cloud Computing
platform, which serves as the distributed systems foundation for Netflix
application development, and powers the movie viewing experience for
millions of customers every day.
As we expand, the security of our service, applications, systems,
and data becomes even more vital, and we are looking for an experienced
and motivated Application Security Engineer/Architect to help us in
these efforts. This position is vital to ensuring the ongoing security
of the Netflix service and will be instrumental in working with Netflix
engineering teams to build and operate robust and secure software and
systems.
This is a great opportunity to be on the leading edge of
cloud-based software security and simultaneously gain intimate knowledge
of Netflix products and services. You must be a quick learner, and have
strong technical and communication skills.
Areas of focus include:
- Application security analysis, including code and architecture review, analysis of data flows and penetration testing
- Consulting with engineering teams on the design, development, and operation of secure online services
- Building tools to automate and integrate application security testing and assurance
- Acting as an internal advocate and resource on secure software engineering and application security practices
- Security focused metric collection and analysis at scale
- Evaluating new and emerging security technologies, features, and products
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Several years of experience in application and software security
- Security assessment experience with Java
- Expertise in e-commerce, distributed systems, and web application security
- Experience with tools and techniques for software security
analysis, including penetration testing and static and dynamic analysis
- Experience with Python, Perl, or other scripting languages
- BS/MS in Computer Science (or equivalent)
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- Experience with public cloud environments and technologies, including Amazon Web Services
- Object-oriented programming experience with Java
- Experience with big data analytics for improving security posture
- Experience with regulatory compliance (PCI, SOX)
- Experience with NoSQL databases
